Weekend is Here Yay!

Woohoo! I'm getting new glasses, Das picked them and somehow I still ended up with purple frames. I'd say my love of vibrant color has infected him but he had bright yellow sneakers when I met him along with other assorted blindingly bright clothing items that he wears with impunity so I can take neither the credit nor the blame for that one.

Glasses shopping was one of several of today's errands. There is so much to do before our trip down south. I need to see about convincing him to put on a cute outfit and taking a few pictures with me to have printed for my family. There is an empty spot on my parent's livingroom wall where our portrait should be. We just need to get around to taking one.

This is going to be a pretty busy for us weekend. Today we're visiting a friend for cuddles and tomorrow night we are going to a play. I think Sunday is set aside for rest and recovery as well as fixing the weatherstripping on his car and starting to purge the garage. I have a week to get the stuff in there down to a dull roar.

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. I got the opposite of buzzed though. Each cup brought me closer to falling over in my chair. By the time we left which really wasn't very late at all, I could barely be upright. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
