Laid Back Sunday

In a few weeks I'll get about 4 deliveries. I think I went a wee bit overboard buying rings, bails, and pendants to adorn my collar. No reason I can't be enslaved in style. I tried 3 different online stores so I'll have to see which one has the best service. So hard to be sure something is going to look right from a picture but I tried. My idea is to be able to switch them out to match my outfits or simply my moods. Das said I'm a very girly girl as he laughed at my enthusiastic fashion based plotting. He also trimmed my hair today so that it is finally cut the way I'd originally intended. Now I have to grow it back out but this time I'm pretty sure bottom of the shoulder blades is plenty long enough.

Since I've sent in my annulment package my thoughts have started to turn towards hairstyles and dresses for the wedding. Not that we are anywhere near being able to actually plan for it yet but pre pre planning entertains me. Funny the stuff we do to destress.

This week we even made it to mass on Saturday evening which i liked a lot better. Not so crowded and hectic. I also got to spend most of today warm and cozy under my new to me goose down comforter. Sure makes washing my hair in cold weather easier to have the rest of me so toasty warm while it dries.

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. I got the opposite of buzzed though. Each cup brought me closer to falling over in my chair. By the time we left which really wasn't very late at all, I could barely be upright. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
