On the brink of moving

It's been quite the week, hard to believe that finally everything is in place and we start moving tomorrow. I can't wait for the furniture to be delivered in the morning. A nice big couch to lay out on, ummm yes.

I'm the last person to realize this but I finally starting listening to an audiobook. Man it's awesome. I got lots of packing done while listening to an enjoyable romance. Too bad I ran out of steam well before running out of stuff to do. Such is my life. I'm just glad we have actual movers even though we don't have a whole lot of stuff it's enough that I don't want to be the one lugging it around. I carried the rotten puppy this morning and my arms ache, can't imagine what dozens of various sized bins would do to my poor arms.

We just dropped the pups off at daycare this morning and by 6pm there were multiple pics featuring them on the website. Funny that they are favorites. Nelly is going to be a handful I can tell that already, especially since in several pictures she's frolicking with dogs way bigger than herself and holding her own. I saw a full grown german shepard there this morning and looked at Nelly, it's odd to think she may (likely) get that big.

I'm tired but too excited to sleep yet. However I should try since we have to get moving around 7am.

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. I got the opposite of buzzed though. Each cup brought me closer to falling over in my chair. By the time we left which really wasn't very late at all, I could barely be upright. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
