Canada

We have up and done it. It being traveled by car with two medium sized ( over 50lb) dogs in tow, to Canada. We have been talking about it for quite some time but things hasnt come together until recently when we figured it was time to just go for it.

We arrived early this afternoon after leaving around 2am Sunday morning. Das started out driving but I spelled him long enough for him to watch half of the Arsenal game. By the time we stopped for the night we were both beat but we had made good time and were in Kentucky.

Monday morning found us back on the road trying to keep the dogs from crashing the front seat with limited success. Nosy mutts. I drove again for about an hour and a half in late afternoon before it got dark singing along to newly downloaded jams. Just for the record I cannot rap. We stopped just outside of Buffalo because we were too tired to go that last couple of hours.

Tuesday morning we rallied and made it to the border without incident. Even stopped at the duty free for cigarettes and chocolate. At the border we were directed to immigration and had a pleasant and blessedly brief conversation with a polite officer who welcomed us.

With no time to dally we headed for Toronto post haste as Das had a job interview to get to, which he in fact made. So far I am enjoying myself. My first taste of Harvey's a local burger joint has me swearing off Burger King and McDonald's forever. And Tim Hortons makes the best chain hot chocolate to date. I haven't checked out the donuts yet but it is just a matter of time. Now it is time for some much needed sleep.
