Sunday, a day to get stuff done
We've made huge strides in getting stuff done since we got here in January. Today we opened a bank account, the last thing on the list of must do soon is procure an apartment. We are going to look at one this afternoon that is really cute and I want it. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Yesterday after more crazed behavior from our oldest dog we made the decision to take her to the humane society. I simply can't control a rambunctious puppy and deal with her new aggressiveness and destructiveness. Das took her which I know was hard for him. He said when they got there she tried to attack another dog who was walking several feet away and snapped at one of the volunteers. Since she has never before been snappish with people it pretty much solidified that something is wrong that is beyond our ability to deal with. Maybe the move was way too much for her at her age since as far as I know she was in great health. Took her for a check up right before we left but something has changed in her.
I barely got any sleep last night due to late night banging and yelling outside of our door. I'll be very glad when we find a place to stay that is not where we are now. One of our friends who also lives in the building calls it crack central. Most of the people seem nice enough if a bit odd but there are definitely some characters hanging about. I don't leave the room without Das and when I'm inside I keep the door locked. It's really not a great way to live but I am thankful we have a place to stay temporarily since our original housing plans fell through.
This weekend feels really long but maybe I just need more sleep.
