He's pretty darned awesome

Sometimes I am in absolute awe of Das. No matter how rough things get for him he hangs in there with relatively little complaining. I'm sure I hear more of it than anyone else which is only right and proper, if a man can't complain to his girl then who can he complain to?

He had a procedure the other day which helped some of the issues he's been having with his gut. It also showed just how bad off he was and the amazing thing was how well he'd healed without any treatment. He could have died from the issues he was having and in fact the doctor was rather surprised that he'd not been treated and lived to tell about it. It may be fanciful but I think he didn't die because he's not only too stubborn, he also refused to leave me alone. After all he vowed to take care of me and the man takes his vows very seriously. It's an indescribable feeling to know that he loves me to the extent that he'll deal with relentless pain, and remain in a place for years that he couldn't access proper (if any) treatments for what ails him until I was able to arrange going with him. Funnily he doesn't see it as anything special, for him it's an "of course." He's pretty special and I'm so glad to be his.

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. I got the opposite of buzzed though. Each cup brought me closer to falling over in my chair. By the time we left which really wasn't very late at all, I could barely be upright. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
