Tattoo

Yestday Das gave me permission to get a tattoo. I have been wanting one for a while and he has been thinking about it. He agreed that I can get a fairy on my lower back. While we were cuddling in bed before being overtaken by sleep we chatted a bit about the kind of design I was going for. I told him I want a cute fairy that also incorporated a griffin. 

He has always identified with the griffin and I with fairies so it makes sense to me to have both. Sadly I can't draw at all so some research is in order to find pictures that will give me an idea to take to a tattoo artist so that magic can happen. We met someone yesterday who had an amazing lined and shaded tattoo who gave us his guy's card. I think the style he has is exactly what I am looking for as I don't want color, it feels too busy and distracting. I can't yet envision exactly what I want but at least I have ideas of what I don't want, lol. 

Researching this and getting it just so is going to be fun. I do so like losing myself in new projects. Although in some ways this is a continuation of an on going project learning about the fae.

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. I got the opposite of buzzed though. Each cup brought me closer to falling over in my chair. By the time we left which really wasn't very late at all, I could barely be upright. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
