I liked a book!

So yesterday I started reading "Domination & Submission  The BDSM Handbook" by Michael Makai, when I started it I had no hopes of liking it honestly since frankly I haven't liked any bdsm books especially ones that cover D/s or M/s relationships that I've read. They simply haven't been a good fit for me. I will say that I haven't read many since after reading about 3 I became disenchanted and stopped. This one I like, a lot. The author has a sense of humor which I appreciate and he takes a good bit of time separating relationships from activities and explaining mindsets/hardwiring from things you do. He also goes through an incredible amount of information and hits a wide variety of topics. It is a very big book but b/c it's an easy read and I read fast I'm past 2/3 done with it on pg 404. I like that he obviously has his preferences but does a pretty good job of presenting information evenhandedly.
Even when I didn't agree with something it wasn't the entire premise it was a detail that wouldn't work for me or I didn't share his view on. It was easy to set it aside and read on which can be difficult with some writing styles.

all in all I give it 5 stars, now I need to go finish reading it. :)

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
