Nothing serious just stuff

A lovely weekend was had by all even though not much happened. We did go to an event on Saturday night which was fun for the nearly 2 hrs we could take hanging out. Funny that although I sometimes crave getting out and being social I don't actually need to talk to anyone, I just like being out of the house for a bit.

I was allowed to do some shopping! I got a new purse which is considerably smaller than the old one and just barely fits all my junk which is to me absolutely perfect. I dislike carrying a purse but so easily fall into the trap of filling it so bigger is not better.

I had something on my mind that I wanted to write about last night but of course it's fled. I can't even tell if I was dreaming when the idea came to me or not. I realized I'd been asleep around 2:30 am when I abruptly woke up trying to get away from the cat sized spider in my dream. Dreams have been seriously vivid lately. Even when I sleep a lot it doesn't feel like I got any rest b/c my dreams are so active.

I have been thinking the last few days about how happy I am and how lucky. Life is good and even better today b/c there is caramel sauce and chocolate to go with my ice cream.

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. I got the opposite of buzzed though. Each cup brought me closer to falling over in my chair. By the time we left which really wasn't very late at all, I could barely be upright. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
