Chatty chattiness

Woke up early today with a full busy brain. This doesn't bode well for the calm day I was hoping to have.  Spent the last few days trying to figure out what is the best for everyone (including me!) with regards to kid custody and once I presented my conclusions to the ex I was met with a lot of radio silence. I can only hope he sees where I am coming from and that things can move ahead smoothly. I guess we shall see...

Not much going on on the homefront, we are still here albeit quiet. Black tea is delicious but green tea is evil, this is my conclusion after many weeks of dedicated tea drinking. Das gives me a lot of flack for drinking herbal tea so I decided to branch out into black tea and green tea. The black teas are so yummy I think they will become a staple.  One good thing about drinking so much tea is that I am very well hydrated and I think that has been helping my congestion. I'm feeling lots better now just trying to shake the remaining congestion so that I can get back to 100%. Getting tired of getting sick but glad it hasn't been worse.

I love early mornings talking to Das, such a great way to start off the day. And today I actually cleaned the kitchen too. I think I should get the tidy slave award. :) It's going to be warm today so I'm hoping I can talk Das into a bicycle ride to the park. Just have to remember my inhaler.

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. I got the opposite of buzzed though. Each cup brought me closer to falling over in my chair. By the time we left which really wasn't very late at all, I could barely be upright. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
