I'm a little Lolita, sort of...

I have spent a good portion of the day looking at lolita dresses and blogs. It all started when I joined a lolita group on fet and saw a petition someone was circulating about lolita being a misunderstood lifestyle, well I had no idea that it was a lifestyle, I just liked the clothes so further research was in order.

 A few goggle searches later I came across a blog that explained what a lolita is and isn't, how to start a wardrobe on a budget, recommendations for behavior, all kinds of things. It was truly enlightening. Now I highly doubt I will ever be a lifestyle lolita b/c well like I said I just like the clothes and I am apparently doing it all wrong. I like looking like jailbait, that's a huge part of the attraction for me, it is sexual and meant to attract male attention. Since that is the opposite of  what they state being a lolita is about I'm pretty sure my views would not be welcome on a mainstream site.

I do love that I found the blog though because it had great tips on dressing well on a budget and I wasn't too keen on spending hundreds of dollars on one dress. I also got a good breakdown of outfit staples and different ways to wear the style. Fashion is fun!

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. I got the opposite of buzzed though. Each cup brought me closer to falling over in my chair. By the time we left which really wasn't very late at all, I could barely be upright. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
