Crazy in love...still

I've been playing with myspace putting together a playlist of fun music i loved from the 90s and beyond. I use music so much to express my feelings which is not to say that I pick extremely artsy music, I'm addicted to pop with a good helping of hip hop and a smattering of rap. There are also dashes of rock in there as well as reggae and various other genres. Anyway...

As I was bopping along Crazy in Love came on and even though I've heard it before it's been a while and somehow I'd never paid much attention to the words before.  This part stick out because it summs me up so well.

In the last couple of weeks I have changed a few things, I made my relationship status on FB completely public w/ our anniversary date. I had previously had that only visible to people on a certain list because the date overlapped with my marriage and I had a lot of non poly-friendly and non kink friendly people on my FB.  I also wasn't being hugely exuberant, not hiding but not shouting my love from the rooftops either at least in part because I was concerned about the sensibilities of my exes family and the potential for drama from mine.  I decided that shit had to stop, being held hostage by worries about other people's opinions is craziness and totally not my style.  So I  have been doing less editing of myself and you know what the wold hasn't come to a screeching halt.  Today I posted the video for Crazy In Love as my status on FB because that is how I've been feeling today, yesterday, last month, last year... and I no longer care who knows it.

Apperently the club isn't just an American thing.  I was just sitting chatting and minding my business when a flow of older black women walked by all saying hello and good to see you and see you later. The person I was speaking to asked me when I had met them and I laughed and told her that I had never seen any of them before. Das explained to her that this is a pretty common occurrence for me. He gets tickled whenever he witnesses it.  I guess some things aren't country specific.

Coffee

Last night we went to a coffee tasting. Now let it be known that I categorically do not like the taste of coffee but Das does so there you have it.  I drank tiny cup after tiny cup of heavily creamed/sugared coffee trying to discern roundness, smokey aftertones, citrus hints and whatnot. One cup tasted woodsie to me but that was about all I got and no one else knew what I was talking about so I'm going to have to say that my skills as a coffee taster are sorely lacking. It was a fun event though, lots of laughing and chatting about all types of stuff. In fact one might have suspected the coffee had been spiked with something alcoholic if one was simply observing the flushed cheeks and cheery demeanor of the participants. I got the opposite of buzzed though. Each cup brought me closer to falling over in my chair. By the time we left which really wasn't very late at all, I could barely be upright. Update Quickie

Christmas was good. We had a nice trip to the inlaws and we we got there the chocolate consumption was high. :) I'm rather amazed that I didn't gain more weight frankly because I always eat more there, I swear they put something in the food. We all exchanged presents and everyone seemed happy with what they got. I know I was. I got sparkly things and lotions, stuff I love. His mom is pretty perceptive because even though I always get girly things she never gives me nail polish which is good seeing as how I don't wear it. I am going to have a stellar collection of gloves though since I still have the ones from last year. Of course at this time of year there is no such thing as too many gloves. It snowed a few days, stayed sunny for Christmas and started sleeting the next morning. I'm glad we only made a day trip, driving home in that mess would have been horrible.
