The Deed is Done

"I's married now!"  or as Das said, like his dog I'm now registered with the state.  ;)

Yesterday was beautiful, the weather here is rather fickle. Last Friday it was iced over, yesterday it was in the mid 70s all day. I was outside in a sleeveless dress comfortably until after 5pm on the last day of January. I'm sure winter will return but I'm glad it decided to take a hiatus for a day.

Everyone arrived on time, in fact we were the last to get there with 3 minutes to spare. Since justice of the peace weddings are by appointment here we figured tardiness would be frowned upon.  Our judge was a sweet tiny older lady who seemed to really enjoy performing marriages. I was rather surprised that she wanted to pray and read a passage from the bible though seeing as how it was a civil ceremony but I guess it's a TX thing. We all had a laugh when she asked about my first name and I said that Das had found it for me and she came back with "so he named you." statement not a question, lol. She wasn't quite as cavalier about the content of my vows (I think it was the vow of perpetual obedience that did it) but after going a bit pale (and she was pretty pale to begin with) she recovered her composure quickly though and Das was kind enough not to be too inflammatory in his wording with his vows.  At the end of it she gave me a little book of wisdom passages.

Das made up his vows on the spot which I found amazing, I'd had mine written for about a month and still didn't have them memorized. I cheated and read off of index cards. His were beautiful and he said he would write them out for me. So uniquely him too with talk of maintaining our respective places and care. I'm so glad that the people who attended know him well enough to grasp how meaningful what he said was.

I did get to wear my tiara and even managed to sneak being a princess into my vows, what can I say i'm a his baby girl. :) There were lots of pictures taken most of which I don't have since I was busy but there were a few on my phone which got passed around a bit. I should have everyone else's pictures within a week. Afterwards we went to lunch then to a cupcake place for dessert. We stayed out until nearly 6 talking and having fun. I think it was the perfect way to do things. We were supposed to go out partying last night but we took a nap and that was that. we did get up around ten but fell back into bed about midnight and I stumbled back out at 4am. I think I need to take up drinking coffee or just have another nap. Caffeine is definitely needed.

We've made it FB official, lol. I doubt we are updating any other social sites especial fet because in that milieu being married isn't particularly relevant. Not that I will studiously avoid mentioning it but just won't make a deal about it. Funny how my ring is the easiest one I've ever worn. It's so comfy I have forgotten I've had it on several times already which never happens with me and rings. I generally have avoided wearing rings because they aggravate me.  This one is slim and just tight enough not to worry about but not cut off your circulation tight, and it's purple! it's a stainless steel band with amethyst embedded in it all the way around. I love them as they are my birth stone. Matches my earrings too. Cuteness win! and now, pictures.
